You will find him at the Waterfront, walking nearby the docks

Unpack the two files (you need the esm and the esp file) 
into /Oblivion/Data, Start the game and 'X'
mark the Lucien comp in the Data Files menu.
The zip file should have 3 files; This one, Lucien.esp and
ANB_Scrolls.esm 


UPDATE: Changed name from Bodyguard Lucien to Lucien Lachance. He will no
	longer respawns his inventory and loose the items after 3 days. 
	I also changed some scripts. He is marked as "essential", cannot be killed.
	A compass will show where Lucien is if you lost him somewhere.

WHAT IS IT?

Adds an imperial female pirate named Gabrielle Renee who will be your companion. You can find her in the Waterfront District of the Imperial City.

UPDATING FOR AN OLDER VERSION

IF YOUVE NEVER USED THIS MOD OR ANY OLDER VERSION BEFORE IGNORE THIS!!
If youve been using this mod and need to update to the newest version follow these steps before you extract the new plugin file from the zip file.

1) Run the game
2) Load your save game with Gabby in it
3) Access her inventory and take everything you want to keep. If you dont youll lose it forever.
4) Save the game (as a new save or overwrite an old one up to you)
5) Exit the game
6) Uncheck the Plugin from you Oblivion Launcher
7) Run the game
8) Load the game you JUST SAVED in step 4.
9) Resave the game.
10) Exit the game
11) Extract the new version of the plugin file to the Data folder overwriting the old one if you havent already deleted it.
12) Make sure its checked in the Oblivion Launcher
13) Start the game and load your game you JUST SAVED in step 9.
14) Goto the waterfront district and find her.

HOW IT WORKS

IF YOU WANT TO SEE WHAT SHES SAYING YOU HAVE TO HAVE DIALOG SUBTITLES ON THERE IS NO VOICE OVER.

She gains levels on her own completely independant of the player. It takes her the same number of skill ups as it takes the player to gain a new level. So if your game settings value for skill ups to gain a level has been changed it will effect her as well. She regens 1/20 of her max health every few seconds and of course if she has potions shell use them just like any other npc. When she gains a level it automatically adjusts her stats based on her class focus. She will use either a bow or a melee weapon if she has one based on her distance from her current target. All her combat and weapon selection is controlled by her AI and default npc standards it has nothing to do with me. She gains skill ups based on what combat mode shes in and what shes currently using. For melee mode she can gain skill ups in any weapon or armor skill and block, athletics and acrobatics. In Ranged mode she can only gain skill ups in Marksman and acrobatics. You cant control her mode its determined by her distance from her current target.

She has the following dialog topics that appear after shes joined you as a companion:
1) Companion Share (see below)
2) Follow Me - Tells her to follow you only really useful if youve told her to wait.
3) Wait Here - Tells her to wait at her current location and shell stay there til you tell her to follow you again.
4) Status? - Asks her her current status which reports all of her stats and skill values as well as her current lvl lvl progress and disposition toward you.
5) Find Stuff - Tells to try to find useful items (currently its set to All Wearable Items)
6) Make this the escape point - Tells her to set her current exact position as the point shell escape from Oblivion to. DO NOT USE THIS INSIDE OR IN A DIFFERENT WORLD SPACE. Its intended to use ONLY IN TAMRIEL if you use it anywhere else you WILL LOSE HER and most likely not be able to find her. Its a limitation of the scripting language that I cant tell what the current cell actually is without checking if its all of em in the entire game 1 by 1. Nothin I can do.
7) Escape! Get out of here! - Makes her escape to the escape point you tell her to make. Only works in Oblivion.
8) Horse - Tells her to tell her horse to follow her or not. If the horse is not following her it WILL NOT CHANGE CELLS WITH HER THIS INCLUDES FAST TRAVEL! If she gets too far from her horse itll be sent back to the Chestnut Handy Stables.

The Find Stuff Dialog Choice: This was added in 0.75 and allows you to tell her to search around the area for things. Weither she finds them or not is not upto me its determined by her RAI. If she does find things theyll be in her inventory. She can buy things from NPC vendors so she will spend her gold. Currently there is no method for giving her more gold. She may steal items as well Im really not sure like I said its all controlled by RAI. This topic is for players to test and find out how it works and if and how often she gets items for me to add other things to her later.

COMPANION SHARE

She has my own custom written method of sharing items with her and accessing her inventory. To access her inventory talk to her and select 1) Companion Share. She will disappear for a second or so and reappear using whatever you just gave her. This is not my favorite choice for getting her to use the gear but its the only way to get her to use things you give her without changing cells first. It will not work while shes riding. It will crash the game and as such when you select it in the dialog menu shell refuse.

HORSE RIDING

Version 0.86 introduces horse riding for Gabby. When you mount your horse and move to the distance set for her to follow you she will then attempt to find her horse and mount it at which point shell ride it following you as normal. She will dismount and remount for combat and will dismount when you do all with no interaction from you. If she seems to be having trouble mounting the horse ride near it or get off your horse and back on normally she finds and mounts her horse without problem but with how iffy Oblivion is you never can be sure. The KEY to getting her to ride is the distance from her after you mount. Just move away from her a bit and shell mount up. Her horse isnt Essential meaning it CAN DIE. If it does youll see a msg saying its went back to Chestnut Handy Stables and itll be waiting there for you and Gabby.

AUTOMATED THINGS SHE DOES

To make Gabby more effient and more natural Ive made her do a number of things automatically when you do. Most of these have been in since previous versions but I added a new one and I figured I should make a small section about them all.

*Draws her weapon when you do
*Sneaks when your sneaking and as long as shes not in combat can gain skill ups in sneak. When shes not sneaking and not in combat she can gain skill ups in atheltics. She will also sneak in combat if you are. This can be controlled by setting ANBGabbySneakToggle to 0
*Uses a torch if she has one. Only give her 1 any more than that will be removed from her inventory.
*Sit down/Lay down. As of v0.86 she will now sit down or lay down anytime you do. She may not always sit next to your or near you but she will. She'll usually lay down if a beds nearby (shes lazy. Dont tell her I said that =))

ANB_SCROLLS.ESM USAGE AND INFO

ANB_Scrolls.esm is a plugin I made that allows any npc to learn any spell you give them while the game is running (in real time in other words) It was primarily created for Gabby so she can become a caster of any kind you want or just use a small handful of spells. Because of the limitations of Oblivion plugins interacting with each other it had to be made into a master file and as such it is now a REQUIREMENT for using ANB_Companion_Gabby. Only 1 spell can be given to npcs in the current version and you'll receive that scroll when you run the game for the first time with the plugin selected. Give the scroll to any npc and that npc will learn and use the spell as long as they can (skill high enough enough magicka etc) Since giving the scroll to an npc would normally require access to that npcs inventory you can see why its ideal for a companion such as Gabby. Because of the interaction between the two plugins Gabby can gain skill ups from the spells in this mod. That means if you give her the scroll shell learn the spell and when she uses it she has a chance to get better at that school of magic. This ONLY WORKS FOR THE SPELLS INCLUDED IN THIS MOD.

This mod has a copy of every standard spell in the game prefixed with ANB. Most of these spells can be added to her in the CS and she can gain skill ups using them. Not all of them because the mod isnt finished yet and it has to be in the CS because theres no scroll version you can get and give her ingame. THIS MOD IS NOT FINISHED. If you dont know what your doing comfortably in the CS you probably just need to stick with her only having one spell. Atleast its a heal spell =)

This plugin can be used by ANY npcs as long as its loaded they just wont gain anything from it other than the spell.

I WOULDNT RECOMMEND USING THIS MOD AS THE BASIS FOR YOUR OWN COMPANION AT THIS TIME.
